Tell us about yourself, where you are from, when you were young
Well, I’m Australian. I started with music when I was very young. I was surrounded by music since I was born. I took a guitar at a very early age and made progress travelling around. After leaving school I tried to learn carpentry but music was my passion and it has filled all my life.

Háblanos de ti, de dónde eres, de cuando eras jóven
Soy Australiano. Comencé con la música siendo muy joven. Estuve rodeado de música desde que nací.  Desde muy niño cogí una guitarra e hice progresos viajando. Después de dejar la escuela fui aprendiz de carpintero pero la música era mi pasión y ha llenado toda mi vida.

Tell us about your influences and about your music style
I don’t want to be stuck to a simple style. (I’m going to say this only  to beQbe not in my real    life) : I have always tried to explore the extremes: Sadness and Happiness and I have made the right music to express these feelings.. I have been influenced by many musicians I have met on my way travelling: Tom Waits, Leadbelly, Screaming Jay Hawkings, Dylan…, people I feel identified with, musicians who express delicacy and intimacy.

¿Cúales son tus influencias? ¿Cómo definirías tu estilo?
No quiero encasillarme en un solo estilo de música.  (Solo voy a decir esto para beQbe, no en mi vida real):  Siempre he intentado explorar los extremos:  Tristeza y Felicidad y he hecho el tipo de música adecuado para expresar esto. Me han influenciado muchos músicos con los que me he encontrado en mis viajes : Tom Waits, Leadbelly, Screaming Jay Hawkings, Bob Dylan , gente con la que me identifico, músicos que expresan delicadeza e intimismo. 

Who have you dreamed to play with?
I don’t know , Talking about fame, I have in my head to play with someone that has travelled a lot and express much of human , someone that sees under his skin and expresses feelings lived in the places he’s been to, someone that expresses these kind of things included myself.

¿Con quién has soñado actuar?
No lo sé. Hablando de famosos, tengo en mi cabeza actuar con alguien que haya recorrido mucho y exprese mucho de humano, alguien que mire en su interior y exprese sentimientos vividos en  los lugares que haya recorrido, con alguien que exprese este tipo de cosas entre los que me incluyo yo mismo.

What is the story and the message of “Exits”
This album comes after “Release”. The beginning is not really the base of “Exits”. I think that the basic concept in which it moves is LOVE. It is not in the beginning when it shows, for it is a remind, it is something you take with you. In any way there is always and end wherever we go. The end is always an EXIT, a new chapter, a new love. It’s like going out from “the Boehme” and go to any dad’s love. 

¿Cuál es la historia y el mensaje de “Exits”
Este álbum llega después de “Release”. En realidad no es  el comienzo  la base de EXITS.  Creo que  el concepto básico en el que se mueve es el “AMOR”.  No es al comienzo cuando se muestra, pues es un recuerdo, es algo que llevas contigo. De alguna manera siempre hay un final vayamos  donde quiera que vayamos. El final siempre es una salida (Exits), un nuevo capítulo, un nuevo amor. Es como salir de “La Boheme” e ir hacia el amor de algún  padre.

Written or spoken. Did the story end well?
“Never let the truth get into a good story”. It’s really something very intimate of my life. This story came in through a window when I was very far away from somebody important for me. It’s something very serious and sometimes we have to say “it’s enough”. It’s like when we say: “That’s finished, no more games”. When we know each other we shouldn’t be trying, we simple have to tell the truth, whether it is LOVE or GOODBYE.

Written or spoken, ¿acabó bien la historia?
Nunca dejes que la verdad te estropee una buena historia. Es en realidad algo muy íntimo de mi vida. Esta historia llegó por la ventana cuando yo estaba muy lejos de alguien que me importaba. Es algo muy serio y a veces tenemos que decir “basta”. Es  como cuando decimos: Esto se acabó, no más juegos. Cuando nos comprendemos no debemos estar probándonos. Simplemente debemos decirla verdad bien sea Amor o Adiós.

Without beard, do you feel Steve Smyth?
Yes, I think so. I don’t know what it is to be without it after so many years. Last year I received a couple of blows, so I had to shave it and I enjoyed after watching it grow and I went on with my job, nothing changed. It doesn’t make any difference.

Sin barba es usted Steve Smyth?
Sí, creo que sí. No sé lo que es estar sin ella después de  tantos años. El año pasado recibí dos golpes así que tuve que afeitarme y disfruté después viéndola crecer y seguí con mi trabajo, nada cambió. No tiene importancia.

What message would you give the Cubers?
I’m very pleased to join you, who are looking for what you want and I think it’s wonderfull.

Qué mensaje darías a los Cubers?
Encantado de unirme a vosotros, que buscáis lo que vosotros queréis que creo que es maravilloso.

Which music bands would you recomend us?
Mmmmmm… An Australian band….” Wolf and Cub”, a fantastic band from Australia
