China Media Capital is a private equity and venture capital firm specializing in growth capital, mid venture, late venture, emerging growth, corporate restructuring, management buyouts, and mergers & acquisitions. During last december 2015, CMC in a consortium with other investment groups such as CITIC Capital purchased 13% of the English club Manchester City Football Club owned by Mr. Mansour Al Nahyan. The stake in City Football Group, owner of Melbourne City and New York City football clubs was estimated in around $400m. It was one of the big operations which started consolidating Chinese presence in European football, together with the recent acquisition of 25% of Atlético de Madrid by Dalian Wanda. This move by China Media Capital has also triggered the acquisition of other Football Clubs bu Chinese investor groups such as Granada CF and Internazionale de Milan.
