Born to Puerto Rican and Brazilian parents, Cesar joined beIN Sports North America in January 2014 where he was brought in to head up the newly formed Multimedia sales, marketing and sponsorship teams out of the New York office.  

As the Chief Advertising Revenue Officer in the U.S and Canada, Ruiz develops the “go to market” sales strategy focused on generating revenues for beIN Sports multiple platforms; beIN Sports English, beIN Sports Español and beIN Sports Canadian networks.  Ruiz also leads the partnership and monetization efforts with league partners like La Liga Santander, MotoGP and the new media and social media platforms.

Cesar Ruiz came to beIN Media Group from ESPN Media Networks where he was Director of Multimedia Sales & Marketing. Cesar made significant contributions upon his arrival to the team which prompted a promotion to Senior Director after just 15 months on the job. Most recently, Ruiz was responsible for leading national advertising sales efforts out of the New York office for ESPN Deportes’ multimedia platforms; including television, digital and audio while seeking innovative sponsorship opportunities to align the total market efforts within ESPN for marketers seeking to take advantage of the 50+ million Hispanics in the US regardless of language.

Prior to ESPN, Ruiz spent time at Mexican conglomerate Televisa, where he served in a dual role as General Sales Manager of the national sales division on the East Coast and the lead executive in managing the licensing deal partners relationships (Rodale Publishing, Ziff Davis, Hearst and ESPN) in the Northern part of the U.S.  Ruiz began his career in the multicultural industry at the Chicago Tribune in 2002, where he rose through the ranks to become advertising sales manager for the company’s Spanish-language publications. His primary role at the Tribune was aligning joint sales efforts between the English language and Spanish language publications.  (Newsday, LA Times & Chicago Tribune)

Ruiz is a well respected executive in the marketplace and prides himself on building strategic relationship with his clients at both the agency and client level where he feels he can better serve his business by understanding their needs from both perspectives.   

Ruiz attended Seton Hall University and graduated from New Jersey City University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1995. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Communications and Media Management from Fordham University.
